What is a frequency polygon, and how is it constructed for grouped data?
Answer: A frequency polygon is a graph obtained by plotting class marks against their corresponding frequencies and joining the plotted points with line segments. To complete it, points with zero frequency are usually added at the class marks of one class interval before the first and one class interval after the last.
Solution
A frequency polygon represents a grouped frequency distribution using class marks on the horizontal axis and frequencies on the vertical axis. Joining the points by straight line segments gives the polygon, and adjoining zero-frequency points close its ends.
