If p(x)=5x−4x2+3p(x) = 5x - 4x^2 + 3, find the value of p(−1).p(-1).

  1. A.-6Correct answer
  2. B.2
  3. C.-2
  4. D.6

Solution

Substitute x=−1x = -1 into the polynomial: p(−1)=5(−1)−4(−1)2+3=−5−4(1)+3=−5−4+3=−6p(-1) = 5(-1) - 4(-1)^2 + 3 = -5 - 4(1) + 3 = -5 - 4 + 3 = -6.
