Practice question from Probability (Class 10 · CBSE Mathematics), with the correct answer and a step-by-step solution.

easy · MCQ · Q-F5C42A

A box contains 3 blue, 2 white, and 4 red marbles. If a marble is drawn at random from the box, what is the probability that it is not white?

  1. A.2/9
  2. B.4/9
  3. C.7/9Correct answer
  4. D.5/9

Solution

Total marbles = 3+2+4=93 + 2 + 4 = 9. Number of non-white marbles = 3(extblue)+4(extred)=73 ( ext{blue}) + 4 ( ext{red}) = 7. Thus, the probability is 7/97/9.
