Distinguish between conventional and non-conventional sources of energy. Give one example of each.
Answer: Conventional sources of energy have been used for a long time and include coal, petroleum, natural gas and firewood. Most of them are exhaustible and cause pollution. Non-conventional sources are newer, generally renewable and less polluting; examples include solar energy, wind energy and biogas.
Solution
Conventional sources are widely used traditional sources, many of which are limited and polluting. Non-conventional sources are generally renewable and cleaner alternatives.
